This is a material study program for terra-cotta study. In this program, we intent to design aggregating frame-like panels/units strong enough to span a small distance. This line of research seeks to design units which inherit structural rigidity from their own geometry.

An innovative terra cotta furniture design. Curve shape units can connect to each other in various way for different requirements.

TWISTING TOWER


Hosein, Jingyan, Moath Rababah

 

A terra cotta tower deisgn. Press-cast square blocks stack and twist to grow up, and in the center a steel frame is used to reinfoce this tower.
